Economics and Statistics are disciplines that are pivotal in decision making in both public and private sector organisations across the world. Organisations are increasingly seeking for graduates with quantitative skills in economics and statistics to support scientific decision making and policy formulation. The vast majority of successful institutions and organisations attribute a significant portion of their success to leveraging the power of high quality decision making through statistical analysis and forecasting.
The Bachelor of Science in Economics and Statistics is an intensive three-year full time day but also weekend programme of study offered in the Faculty of Business and Management (FBM). This degree is appropriate for those wishing to acquire extensive knowledge and skills in economics and statistics. The programme goes beyond providing mere training in technical skills to mentoring learners into graduates with analytical, problem solving skills and the right attitudes to engage with an increasingly complex global environment. The programme will mentor learners into responsible, educated, employable and entrepreneurial citizens.
